New house, new job and a little bit homesick

As they say, all good things come in 3?
Unfortunately it also makes for lack of time and feeling guilty while being thrown in the deep end again.
Though part of the ‘new’ challenge is enjoyable: shaking old habits, breaking boundaries and learning each step of the way – I do wish I could take a time-out and spend more time with my family and friends. Be with them right now and give them all a big hug…
Especially my father -wish I could’ve been there in the hospital with him- and my best friend, after the last few weeks I hope her birthday tomorrow is filled with fun surprises and celebration of life. If anything, it’s reminded me how important it is to seize the day – just sometimes wish there was more time to seize!

Hug,

Celebration

It’s been a little over a year since I first stepped off a plane to meet the city of my dreams.
Seems time does not only fly, it travels at light-speed these days. Aging should come with its own conversion chart:  “when older than 18 time passes exponentially”.

Nevertheless I’ve learned a lot.  Along the way I’ve seen lots of Oz… Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane, Phillip Island, Fraser Island, Whitsunday Islands…
And there’s no underestimating the lessons you learn living on your own:

  1. value of sex = $40 for a massage with a happy ending
  2. value of the best coffee in the world = $3.90
  3. value of a new car = -2000$ the moment you drive it out of the garage
  4. value of being able to hold and hug the people you love = priceless

One of the reasons Sydney’s still getting used to being called home, is because she’s still missing a part of me.
Thankfully he will be here soon…
Happy birthday sweetie X

Obamania

As John McCain is about to start his concession speech I have to congratulate the new president of the USA!

We have been following the coverage live from the office and  I feel relieved about the outcome – change is imminent.
And I hope this will also change people’s perception of the US and its citizens – including my own.
There is no question that Barack Obama has tough times ahead of him, which is why it is all the more important he has his country’s support and why I am relieved that whom I felt to be the stronger candidate, beyond any race, has won.

Good luck President Obama!
